Skating Rink Opens in Ripon! For the first time in several year, Riponites and visitors to the area have a place to skate!  Volunteers from the community, in partnership with Ripon College and the City of Ripon, created the rink to provide a safe, outdoor recreational activity.  The rink, which is located adjacent to the Village Green (400 Watson Street) in downtown Ripon, opened January 9. Open skating is available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5 to 9 p.m. as well as Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 4 to 9 p.m.  The rink is also open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.  Come on down and check it out!

In the Little White Schoolhouse a decision was made by a small group of Ripon citizens that changed the future of our nation forever. The Little White Schoolhouse tells an intriguing story of how the Republican Party came to be. These Ripon citizens voted to form and become members of a new political party called "Republican." The birth of the Republican Party brought a dedicated following of individuals who pledged to organize together and fight against the spread of slavery. Today you can enjoy tours through this historic building while enjoying the history behind it.

Cedar Ridge Ranch W14471 Dartford Road (920) 748-8405 An introduction into Equestrian fun that is perfect for both experienced and novice riders.  Facilities include both outdoor and indoor arenas as well as riding trails.  Among the activities offered on the ranch are horseback riding; horsedrawn wagon, carriage and sleigh rides; petting zoo; picnic areas; riding lessons and carriage driving lessons.  A children's riding camp is held in the Summer.  Group outings are welcome; chuckwagon lunches and dinners, reunions, company picnics, corporate retreats; motorcoach and field trip programs.  Please call ahead.

Larson's Famous Clydesdales W12645 Reeds Corner Road, Ripon (920) 748-5466 Experience the rich tradition of Larson's Famous Clydesdales with an up-close view of a working clydesdale ranch. The 90-minute show includes a tour, a presentation on how the horses are prepared for competition and a clydesdale show demonstration. Also, take the opportunity to pet a baby clydesdale and visit the museum and gift shop. Reservations are required. Motorcoach groups are welcome with prior arrangement.
